MD and Chief Innovator
I get a buzz out of helping our clients run their business, better, simpler or cheaper. In fact I’m never happier than when I am hunting down a cloud or online solution which will take the grunt work out of a client’s business. For me helping my clients is so much more than saving them tax, it’s about freeing them up to do more of what they love – whatever that may be, business or otherwise.
When I set up Kinder Pocock in 2005, my aim was to build a practice which was down-to-earth and accessible to our clients. Over time this has evolved into a deep-seated desire (and culture throughout the firm) to continually wow our clients with our high levels of client service.
I was one of the first accountants to move their practice and clients onto the cloud. In fact, in 2012 I started researching cloud solutions and discovered Xero and G Suite – I haven’t looked back, and every day since then has become more rewarding and much more fun. For me, the challenge is no longer about getting our clients onto the cloud, but getting them to enjoy the full benefits which comes from running their whole business on the cloud. (Not just their accounting software.)
Something surprising about me?
Whilst travelling (many years ago!) I spent time in Israel working on a Moshav making fruit boxes, including Sharon Fruit boxes!
Client and Payroll Manager
I’m often the voice at the end of the phone for my clients. Need help with Xero? Concerned about a filing deadline? Have a general question about your tax return or payroll? It’s me that you will typically speak to or email. And, this is all part of the Kinder Pocock service. There’s no clock ticking or bill mounting up for me to sort out your day-to-day queries.
Like Sharon, I’m a great believer in finding automated solutions to remove manual entry. A great example is how Xero assesses employees for auto-enrolment and can publish the pension filing report to the pension provider. This frees you up to spend more time on doing what you love, and more time for us at Kinder Pocock to truly support you in your business.
Go on surprise me!
I have taken LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations up to Grade 8, Gold Medal (I’m not always as quiet as I seem!)
As one of our clients you’ll be hearing from me regularly. In fact, I’ll be the person who will be by your side as we get you set up on all our systems as a new client. Unlike other practices, I’ll normally phone you first before emailing whenever we need you to do something. And that’s all part of the Kinder Pocock way.
I’ve come to Kinder Pocock from a background in customer services. With my AAT level 4 qualification, I am able to handle both your admin and basic technical queries.
If you phone through to the office, it will normally be me answering the phone. Looking forward to your call!
I lived in New Zealand for 6 years, and whilst there I trained to be a Zumba instructor. I used to teach 4 classes a week and loved it!
The Best Xero Bookkeeper we know!
I have been an accounting technician for more years than I wish to admit and have provided assistance and support to many clients. Over the years I have experienced different types of business and a variety of environments and find each and every one interesting and enjoyable.
After many years of using alternative software I now openly confess to being a Xero and Receipt Bank convert, and I work with Sharon and the Kinder Pocock team helping to make our mutual clients’ lives easier.
I’ve seen on many occasions how using online tools like Xero and Receipt Bank can make the day to day processes so much easier and quicker. This cloud software ensures we have up to date data available for businesses at all times so that our clients can make the right decisions.
What would surprise me about you?
I am a Royal Yachting Association qualified Day Skipper, but the motion of a boat just makes me very hungry and sleepy… so ultimately not a very useful crew member.
Fern Financial Planning Ltd
I have built up a wealth of experience having started in financial services in 1994 and I’ve recently taken the bold step to set up my own IFA practice, Fern Financial Planning Ltd. I’ve worked alongside Sharon and the Kinder Pocock team for the whole of my IFA life where we have helped many clients with their financial and tax planning needs.
Sharon and I use the phrase “joined up thinking” as we discuss clients and potential clients both before, during and after our meetings. We put our heads together to restructure or plan a company or an individual’s needs to meet their objectives and goals.
I believe we’re a dynamic, forward thinking team who focus on what’s best for our clients, and we wouldn’t be able to do this wihout online tools like Xero and Spotlight Forecasting, which gives us access to clients’ real time position. I also like to steal Sharon’s calculator at every opportunity.
What would surprise me about you?
After leaving school I trained as an electronics engineer so am able to change light bulbs to order! I now spend my spare time training for triathlons.
